They weren't lying...

Blogging... well, it ain't easy. Foolish of me to think that I could maintain this thing being ill prepared as I was to start a blog. There's gotta be a statistic like there is for restaurants: 4 out of every 5 restaurants fail within the first year (don't quote me on this, I'm only speculating) and I'm sure 9 out of every 10 blogs go stagnant after 6 months.  Well, dammit, I'm a statistic.

I imagine if any of you have even been reading that I've lost you. Well, I'm hoping to make a comeback.  Got plenty of things to talk about lately. 1) My second 1/2 marathon is coming up on May 3rd. I'l be talking about what's worked for me, and how you can begin your own training regiment and 2) Crossfit! A new fitness philosophy based on military calisthenics and Olympic powerlifting. Definitely not for the feint of heart, but, the progress I've made in 2 months is enough to get me talking.

Ah, it feels good to be back.

All I Need Is... 80 G's

There are things you need and there are things you want. You need to eat, but you want a fat juicy rib-eye. You need to sleep, but you want to party all night long. You need a job but you want to work no more than 3 days week.

The problem with this need/want equation is finding the happy medium that wil quell the desires of both sides. For the most part, your NEEDs side will get what it wants but, your WANTs side is always left wanting more.

Well, I WANT this car and NEED 80 grand to get it!

Hip Hop Violinist

Paul Dateh

My sister works club gigs from time to time. They typically are hip hop minded or soul, and very underground. She has yet to take me to a show that I don't enjoy, so, when I get the e-mail of her next show, I quickly check it out.

Paul Dateh is a classically trained violinist whose appreciation for the Hip Hop classics are well beyond his years, for, I assume this cat to be in his early 20's.

Check out this video where he plays Gang Starr, The Sugar Hill Gang, Wu-Tang, Pete Rock & CL Smooth and an incredible rendition of a Salt 'N Peppa classic.

It's gotta be the reason.

If I don't have the look, maybe it's my personality? Maybe I'm engaging? Charming? I smile way too often?

No? Then maybe it's how I dress? I look ready for business? Too business casual as opposed to college dropout?
